The Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation is a comprehensive and independent protector of the Parkway, providing critical support beyond federal budgets to assure that the traditions and beauty of the Blue Ridge Parkway can be forever realized and shared. Whether in capital improvements to enhance visitors’ experiences, educational outreach to children, cultural preservation, or providing funding and stewardship to local land conservatories to preserve the Parkway’s scenic quality, the Foundation provides essential private support for vital projects that would otherwise go unfunded. The Foundation adds a margin of excellence to create an inspiring journey that becomes part of who we are, kindling our sense of wonder and reaffirming what we value.
Beyond its primary objective – to enhance the Parkway experience and to help preserve its scenic quality – the Foundation also supports an array of other initiatives, including awarding small grants to Parkway advocates, maintaining a formal archive program for family histories and photographs, and maintaining an endowment and estate planning program.
